She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Jacquelyn “Jackie” Brooks; two grandchildren, Malique Brooks and JaMila Brooks; and sister, Sarah Howard.

Martha’s legacy continues through a host of nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply: Marquita “Quita” Taylor, Angela Howard, Shurlita “Lisa” Stevens, Agnes Mathews, Diane Stevens, Phyllis Bradford, Sadie Stevens-Jones, Wanda Dowdy; Gary Stevens (preceded in death), Ronald Howard, Anthony Mathews, Thomas “Tony” Stevens, Demetrius Stevens, Mark Mathews, Antris Mathews and Martin Mathews and several great-nieces and great-nephews and relatives.

She also leaves behind beloved cousins, Sheila Appling, Pat Sims, Larry Appling and Pauline Strickland.

Martha was preceded in death by four siblings, Janie B. Stevens, Alfonso Mathews, Catherine Mathews, and Celestine Dowdy.
